Course Description:
High-performance liquid chromatography or commonly known as HPLC, is an analytical
technique used to separate, identify or quantify each component in a mixture. The mixture is separated using the basic principle of column chromatography and then identified and quantified by spectroscopy.
In the 1960s, the column chromatography LC with its low-pressure suitable glass columns was
further developed to the HPLC with its high pressure adapted metal columns. HPLC is thus basically a highly improved form of column liquid chromatography. Despite advancements in HPLC methods and
technology, there are still issues that can rear their ugly head when using an HPLC system.
In this course we will study common problems of HPLC and how to deal with them.

I am Tasneem Rashid, a Pharmacist. I had done my graduation of Doctorate of Pharmacy from Hamdard University in 2022.
Right now I amWorking in Medi sure Pharmaceutical Laboratory as Regulatory Affairs Officer.
I had some practical experience during my university life as an internee by doing internships in Industrial sector as well as
Clinical sector.
On Industrial side I have an experience as a trainee in Pakistan Council of Scientific And Industrial Research Laboratory Complex
Karachi (PCSIR). I had also done an online course of pharmacovigilance.
On clinical side I have an experience as a trainee pharmacist in Naimat Beghum hospital Karachi, along with onsite experience I
had done few online courses in clinical discipline.
I also have an experience as a trainee pharmacist in community pharmacy.
During my graduation I have participated in different seminars arranged by Agha khan hospital in collaboration with five IQ.
I have also participated in under graduate research work.
I have acquainted myself with a range of skills that would allow me to blend with your company. My internships had provide
me some experience on different pharmacist domain works. I am confident that my knowledge ,positive attitude even under
pressure, and precise attention to detail would make me an asset to your company. My organizational, presentation and
multitasking skills are all advanced. I am sure that my all these experiences will help me start contributing quickly at your

Course objective
This course expands the participants’ knowledge of
HPLC and helps to gain more secureness in
handling of HPLC systems. It is intended that
afterwards problems can be identified and solved
autonomously, entailing more success in method
configuration and HPLC analyses.
